Catherine Herbert, Joint Lead Practitioner & SENCO
Level 3 Diploma children and young peoples workforce
I started to work at Little Acorns in 1994. Firstly as a mother helper when my son Lewis attended, then as a full staff member. Before I started a family, I was a nanny. The children are without a doubt the best thing about working at Little Acorns. Sharing their development with parents and watching and being a part of this is so special.
I was born and brought up in Kirdford and also attended the local schools. I enjoy reading, crochet, car boot sales and spending time with our family.
Alison Griggs, Joint Lead Practitioner & Business Administrator
Level 4 Certificate in Early Years Practice
I joined Little Acorns in January 2017. In September 2017 I took on the role of Business Administrator for Little Acorns and March 2018 became joint Lead with Catherine. Little Acorns is a lovely caring, fun and stimulating preschool. The children are fantastic.
My previous roles include Manager of Loxwood Preschool and teaching assistant in reception class at Rudgwick Primary School. I have been a class rep, Preschool secretary and school governor. I am qualified to Level 4 in Early Years.
In my spare time I enjoy swimming, crafting, I am a member of my local WI and recently taught myself to knit. My family are very important to me. My husband and I have four children aged between 3 and 18 and a scruffy terrier. Together we love walking and camping.
NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education
I started working at Little Acorns in 2006. Before I had my children I worked in local Government. The best things about working at Little Acorns are the children!
I have two teenage sons. I enjoy walking and reading. I am on the Management Committee of Ifold Estates.
CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce
I started working at Little Acorns in July 2016. I previously worked at another local Preschool. I have done a Level 2 Teaching Assistant course and volunteered in a nursery and primary school. I’m a volunteer at the local youth club.
Little Acorns is a very nurturing Preschool; the children are a delight to be with and it’s very rewarding watching them learn new things. The staff are very kind and we are a great team.
I have 3 daughters, a cat and a Westie dog called Bonnie. I love walking Bonnie and enjoy cooking, especially cakes!, in my spare time. As a family we love camping and have a fat yak which we use on holidays mainly lochs in Scotland and by the sea!
I started working at Little Acorns in April 2017. Previously I worked at Warnham Pre-school and I was a nanny.
The best bits about working at Little Acorns are the children, the staff and the parents, everyone has been so welcoming. It’s a lovely Pre-school with great resources.
I have two young children and I love being out and about with my family. I also love to ski and have done since I was very young.
I started working at Little Acorns in the summer term 2016. Both my children went to Little Acorns and while they were there I was Chair of the Committee, so I have been involved with the Preschool for many years. I have previously worked in a specialist educational needs role at another Preschool.
I love working at Little Acorns, the children inspire me everyday with their laughter, smiles, hugs and insightful questions!
In my spare time I help out at Rainbows and my local Primary School. I enjoy travelling and swimming.
