Job Vacancy – Lead Practitioner

Little Acorns Pre-School are looking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic & engaging Lead Practitioner to join their team. The ideal candidate will lead & support the team in the smooth day-to-day running of the Pre-School, providing a welcoming, safe and caring environment for children aged 2-5 years.

About us

Little Acorns Preschool was established over 40 years ago to provide regular, high quality nursery care to parents locally; a theme we continue today. Little Acorns is run by an experienced and caring team and is set in the heart of the community of Ifold, near Billingshurst. A ‘good’ rating from Ofsted was received during their last inspection.

Purpose

To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children at Little Acorns at all times, whilst ensuring that all statutory, legal and setting obligations are followed and met.

To give support to the staff within Little Acorns and to manage and supervise all paid staff & volunteers.
To liaise with the Charity’s committee regarding financial and administrative matters as required.
Qualification: Required – NVQ Level 3, or a nationally recognised Early Years qualification
Desirable – Safeguarding & Paediatric First Aid training

Experience

Minimum 2 years experience of working in a Preschool or Nursery setting
Good recent knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and Ofsted requirements

 

Job Type

Permanent, 5 days a week, with some flexibility based on staff rotas.

Hours & Salary

Salary:  Up to £23,000 per annum, pro rata. Negotiable, dependent upon experience.

Hours: 32 hours per week, with some flexible working to allow for planning, administration & events.

42 weeks per year (term time school year of 39 weeks + 3 additional weeks to allow for planning during holidays)
